The International Trade Institute for West Africa (ITIWA) is pleased to announce the launch of its comprehensive training programmes in international trade law and related disciplines for government officials, legal practitioners, parliamentarians, business professionals, and students across West Africa.
ITIWA has been established to fill a critical gap in the West African region: the lack of sustained, high-quality training in World Trade Organization (WTO) Law and related international trade disciplines. While the WTO dispatches staff to developing countries to conduct short seminars, these are typically no more than four days per year per country — insufficient to build genuine capacity in such a complex body of law.
ITIWA addresses this gap by providing regular, continuous, and sustainable training delivered by a world-class international faculty, including practitioners from Geneva, the United States, and West Africa.
Programmes available: • WTO Law and Practice • International Commercial Arbitration • African Trade Law and the ECOWAS Framework • Skills and Techniques in International Negotiations • Drafting of Commercial Contracts • Documentary Credit Transactions
ITIWA invites government ministries, law firms, judiciaries, parliamentary bodies, universities, and private businesses to engage with the Institute to schedule bespoke training programmes tailored to their needs.
