In April 2017, the Executive Director of the International Trade Institute for West Africa (ITIWA), Gertrude Nimako-Boateng, presented at the London School of Economics (LSE) Africa Summit in London, United Kingdom.
The LSE Africa Summit is one of the most prestigious student-run conferences on African affairs in the world, bringing together policymakers, academics, business leaders, and civil society representatives to discuss key issues facing the African continent.
The ITIWA presentation highlighted the critical need for capacity building in international trade law across West Africa and introduced ITIWA's mission to equip the region's officials, lawyers, parliamentarians, and business professionals with the knowledge to engage effectively in the multilateral trading system.
The appearance at the LSE Africa Summit reinforced ITIWA's growing reputation as a leading voice in the international trade law training space for West Africa, and helped establish partnerships with institutions and individuals committed to Africa's economic development.
