ITIWA’s Executive Director, Gertrude Nimako-Boateng, was invited by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to speak at the 2017 LSE Africa Summit on the topic, “BUILT FOR AFRICA: AFRICAN SOLUTIONS FOR AFRICAN ISSUES”
“BUILT FOR AFRICA: AFRICAN SOLUTIONS FOR AFRICAN ISSUES”
Present at the conference was the Vice President of Mauritius, His Excellency Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory, who was a keynote speaker, representatives from the African Union, the International Monetary Fund, civil society, academics, entrepreneurs and students.
The main objective of the conference was to seek and explore targeted solutions to foster economic development and growth in Africa through panel discussion on four topics namely:
– Security and Justice
– Reinventing Africa’s Educational System
– Improving Africa’s Service Economy and
– Rethinking Africa’s Trade Policies
ITIWA’s Executive Director was a panelist on “Rethinking Africa’s Trade Policies”, which explored regional integration in Africa and how to harness potential for industrialization and increased intra-Africa trade.
